The owner assumed that the leak originated in an upstairs marble-paneled bathroom. The estimated cost to rip out and replace the marble to access the plumbing was estimated at $80,000! IR investigation absolved the bathroom and traced the source of the leak to a clogged weep hole under the threshold of a door leading to an upstairs porch.

 

Moisture accumulation where addition was connected to the main facility.

The moisture in this ceiling was identified from within the facility. The extent of the damage was much greater than anticipated and repair action was scheduled to prevent ceiling collapse.
